|This position is responsible for developing outside sales, as well as developing relationships with brokers, realtors and developers. Responsible to ensure credit union position is protected by proper and timely execution of documents and documentation. Provide spontaneous service excellence to applicants, members, employees and business partners; demonstrating the values reflected on TruWest Vision, Mission, and Value’s card.
This position is responsible for new business development as well as loan origination, and compliance with Federal and State regulations related to real estate lending. Responsible for building and maintaining viable relationships with applicants, members, potential members, brokers, realtors and developers in order to achieve loan growth, and recognition of TruWest name and brand in the marketplace.
In addition, position is responsible to monitor loan transaction(s) from origination to closing in order to provide members with a great experience at TruWest. Maintain awareness within the mortgage industry to inform the department manager of market conditions and or changes unique to the real estate market. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently, be self-motivated and able to work away from TruWest offices, with good time management skills for optimal productivity. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the credit union’s products and services in order to identify cross-selling opportunities, which will benefit the member.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Originate mortgage loans that conform to FNMA, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, Equity and other portfolio specific guidelines.
2.Must demonstrate knowledge of State and Federal guidelines governing lending related to real estate products. This includes CFPB.
3.Effective networking, sales and marketing skills.
4.Must perform duties with a high degree of accuracy and meet deadlines.
5.Develop and maintain on-going relationships with Realtors, Brokers, Developers, and outside member sources.
6.Take complete and accurate loan applications.
7.Responsible for follow through of all aspects of the mortgage loan process beginning with prospecting through loan closing.
8.Thorough knowledge of rates and understanding loan pricing adjustments.
9.Personal pipeline management to ensure timely closings.
10.Educate the member about the entire mortgage process and the product that will serve the member’s needs.
11.Follow credit union policies for compliance with all laws and regulations, specifically, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Security Policies and Confidentiality Policies.
12.Maintain NMLS ID
College degree preferred with sales, marketing, mortgage, finance, or real estate background or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven mortgage origination experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Applicant must possess a thorough working knowledge in all aspects of the mortgage industry. Good organizations skills are required to ensure credit union quality of service. Must demonstrate advanced written and oral communication skills in order to be able to communicate the real estate lending process in a professional manner to members and business partners. Must understand, maintain and demonstrate a through knowledge of FNMA, Freddie Mac, VA, and FHA loan programs, required documentation and mortgage terminologies. Demonstrate experience with mortgage origination software, Point/Calyx, Microsoft Word and Excel. Must maintain a professional image and adhere to TruWest Dress Code Policy.
