Our Marketing Manager is focused on growing the credit union by demonstrating our values to members of the community to generate new members and introducing additional products and services to our existing members.  

We are looking for applicants who can develop and implement strategies designed to meet the goals and objectives of the business plan for the credit union.



Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Hires, supervises, trains, plans, coordinates and evaluates the performance of marketing department staff. Arranges schedules to fit department needs.

  • Serves as chair of the Marketing Committee (MARCO) and disseminates marketing and promotional related issues to managers and gathers feedback from staff. Promotes a positive work environment through open communication and cooperation.  Models appropriate behavior for staff.

  • Performs periodic service audits of branch operations to include: review of marketing collateral, observation of service standards, etc. (may include use of secret shoppers).

  • Stays well-informed of the competitive landscape and looks for opportunities in positioning credit union products and services.

  • Promotes the credit union's brand proposition and grows the credit union via marketing materials, strategies, and communications with staff.

  • Creates forecasts for marketing intiatives, reports tangible results from such initiatives and performs cost/benefit analyses and return on investment (ROI) calculations related to marketing promotions.

  • Prepares a marketing budget that supports the credit union's strategic goals while balancing expenses.

  • Looks for opportunities within the community and participates in outreach events that show promise of return (financial, goodwill) to the credit union. Builds relationships with community business and civic leaders. Manages the business relations function to increase memberships through existing and new employer groups (i.e., hospital, etc.).

  • Ensures that marketing tactics are conducted in accordance with established credit union policies and legal requirements. Stays abreast of compliance and regulations affecting the marketing area(s) and assures appropriate regulatory changes to disclosures, advertisements, etc. are made.

  • Supervises the electronic delivery "touchpoints" including social media, the website, member-facing portions of online banking, billpay, eStatements, etc.

  • Acts as creative director for the credit union; ensuring that media output is of consistently high quality and complies with the credit union's brand standards.

  • Plans and coordinates the Annual Membership meeting and oversees the preparation of the Annual Report.

Other Duties/Responsibilities

  • Keeps employees informed of all communications and promotions to the membership through staff communication touchpoints.

  • Conducts ongoing peer analysis of best practices in the financial industry and applies information gathered to improve the credit union's performance.

  • Monitors and reports suspected money laundering, structuring, or other suspicious activity.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge

  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit union operations, policies, procedures, products and services.

  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of all Federal and State laws and regulations affecting credit unions and credit union operations, especially those that deal with advertisement disclosures.

  • Experience and/or certifications with marketing-related software such as MCIF systems, digital and/or print design, and website maintenance

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.

  • Effective relationship-builder; good at collaborating with colleagues and other partners. Works well with others across a wide range of personalities, backgrounds, and skill sets. 

  • Excellent communicator in verbal and in written form. Comfortable speaking in front of groups of internal employees as well as externally for community groups and presentations.

  • Innovative, curious, flexible and highly adaptable. A life-long learner.

  • Self-driven and self-motivated; able to work independently.

  • Able to drive results and demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.

  • Able to analyze statistical data and convert the information into action through decision making. Possesses advanced mathematical skills required for such analysis.

  • Able to operate standard office equipment and software, and type at a minimum of 40wpm. Must be able to learn new equipment and software pertaining to assigned duties.

Required Education and Experience

  • Equivalency of a two-year college marketing degree or completion of a specialized course of study.

  • Minimum two years to five years marketing experience.

  • Prior supervisory/leadership experience.

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Develops and implements strategies designed to meet the goals and objectives of the business plan for the credit union.
