Duties:

Summary/Objective:

The Enterprise Fraud and Financial Crime Analyst I is responsible for assisting with the administration and maintenance of assigned elements of the Enterprise Fraud Management Program. Responsible for supporting fraud prevention and detection systems, investigating and responding to fraud and AML alerts by analyzing risk factors, determining overall risk, providing staff and member support, and managing established remediation workflows. The Enterprise Fraud and Financial Crime Analyst I is also responsible for analyzing, measuring, and monitoring fraud patterns and trends, maintaining key performance metrics, dashboards, and fraud reporting.

Essential Functions include:

-Monitors, analyzes, investigates and responds to alerts for transactional fraud and AML violations and notifications including Debit and Credit Card fraud, deposit fraud, ACH fraud, check fraud, Wire fraud, New Account fraud, Application fraud, Internal fraud, OFAC reviews, FinCEN 314 reviews, Consumer BSA analysis and commercial BSA analysis.
-Provides high level support to Credit Union employees and members by managing remediation workflows, providing resources and support, and responding to requests for investigation and incident management.
-Completes suspicious activity reporting, bond claim filing and fraud investigation reporting. -Collaborates with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies on matters relating to fraudulent or illegal activities as directed.
-Works with merchants, processor, network representatives and vendors to investigate and resolve fraudulent activity as directed.
-Provides investigation and response support for all escalated fraud events and incidents as directed.
-Supports the operational functionality of the Enterprise Fraud Management fraud prevention tools and systems that align results with established loss and member impact thresholds.
-Conducts research and analysis of fraud reporting to identify emerging threats and recommends investigations into concerning trends, patterns and escalated fraud events.
-Prepares and monitors various reports, metrics, dashboards, and KPIs. Recommends changes to the control environment and fraud prevention strategies based on performance results.
-Participates in the development of internal policy, processes and procedures.
-Participates in fraud forums and groups, and participates in other learning methodologies to discover ways to improve fraud prevention and mitigation strategies.

-Regulatory Compliance – Knowledge of and compliance with Financial Institution regulatory requirements including Regulations CC, E, B, Z, OFAC, BSA and Visa, CO-OP, CUSN and CUSC operating rules and regulations

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

-Minimum 1-2 years of progressive financial institution operations and/or fraud management experience.
-Proficient and knowledgeable regarding payment transactions including but not limited to wire transfers, negotiable instruments, shared branching and ACH.

Preferred Education and Experience:
-Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Environment: This job operates in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment

Physical Requirements: Sitting frequently, walking occasionally, use of hands frequently, hearing constantly, talking frequently, exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
