Responsible for growing the profitability of the small business member base through prospecting and acquiring new priority small businesses, as well as retaining and deepening existing relationships.
Conduct productive interview with members and potential members to identify cross-selling opportunities when opening, processing, and closing all types of business accounts. Actively cross-sell by suggesting specific credit union products and services. Meet or exceed sales goals.
Analyze clients' financial condition and recommend financial solutions to best meet the clients' business and personal needs.
Serve as a trusted advisor to membership by viewing situations from the member's perspective to effectively respond to their needs and concerns, often going beyond the initial need or expressed concern of the member depending on the situation.
Through the use of "warm" calling, make contact with existing members to proactively seek new membership, increase sales opportunities and provide follow-up service with a focus on growing our high value member base, loan, and deposit growth.
Prospect, cold call, network and develop new business opportunities within the small business banking community, within a specific territory.
Respond to member inquiries regarding credit union services and/or account discrepancies. Obtain and route necessary information to support departments for extensive account research and/or adjustments. Works closely with other departments in obtaining information and ascertaining necessary corrections. Coordinates a response to member inquiries and ensures prompt answers.
Accurately complete forms for opening, processing, and closing all types of accounts, including both business and personal accounts. Initiate and process the switching of member accounts from prior financial institutions to the credit union. Provide accurate information to members regarding credit union products, services, policies and procedures. As appropriate, advise members of regulations applicable to these policies and procedures.

Undergraduate degree in business, finance or economics preferred or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of proven consultative outside sales experience in financial services, business to business sales, or small business banking.
Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for servicing credit union members and projecting a positive image as representative for the credit union. Approaches others in a tactful manner, reacts well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions, and follows through on commitments.
Requires sound and accurate judgment. Displays a willingness to make decisions in a timely manner, usually within established guidelines. Includes appropriate people in decision-making process and can support and explain reasoning for decisions.
Must be passionate about outside sales and expect to spend 50%-80% of their time prospecting. Proven track record of prospecting new business, enhancing existing relationships and meeting or exceeding sales goals.
Requires excellent interviewing and interpersonal skills, ability to listen to members\' needs and promote appropriate credit union products and services.
Must be able to assess and analyze financial conditions of clients and industry trends including the ability to understand and interpret financial statements and cash flow analysis.
Knowledge of PC applications including Word and Excel required. Experience with automated core banking system preferred. Experience utilizing smart phone and tablet applications preferred.
Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
