Position assists a high-functioning operations team of processors and closers with pipeline management, processing questions, and training of new processing staff. Establishes, enhances and maintains an effective team environment within the Mortgage Department by acting as a liaison between processing and sales with questions regarding status of loans. Monitors daily processing reports, works on process improvements to enhance turn times. Focuses on compliance needs and resolutions. Adequately monitors staffing needs and maintains highly qualified personnel. Successfully leads, coaches, mentors and provides feedback to all position levels.
Essential Functions include:
*Acts as primary contact for all processing questions. Manages team system questions, i.e. Encompass, Advantage Credit, Ulti Pro, Success Factors, LMS etc.
*Facilitates weekly processing meetings. Ensures staff is adhering to all regulatory and compliance requirements. Ensures staff is meeting required metrics for processing standards.
*Attends weekly underwriting calls to ensure files meet contract deadlines and underwriting SLA’s
*Provides input on employee performance reviews, administers time clock and payroll information, and assists with approval of vacation requests
*Assists with Recruiting, onboarding and training of new employees
*Adheres to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations governing the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
Required Education and Experience:
*High school diploma or equivalent
*Minimum four to five years 1st mortgage processing experience
*Ability to train, mentor and motivate new and existing processing staff
*Strong sense of personal accountability and excellent leadership skills
*Knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA programs and guidelines as well as those of other conventional investors, state/local bond programs and mortgage insurers
Preferred Education and Experience:
*Some college preferred
*FHA and VA experience desired
