What you will be doing:
The Technical Trainer plans, organizes, prepares and presents technical training courses to employees with varying computer and software skill levels. Uses and is proficient in classroom, screen-sharing, teleconference and webinar methods of delivery. Introduces and creates new multi-media training programs.
Conducts new employee orientation and training, provides technical training to all staff and remains current on instructional materials and department policies and procedures.
Creates multi-media training (such as web based or CBT) to reach broader audiences minimizing participants time away from their job.
Collaborates across departments to ensure effectiveness of simulated training environments and training center equipment.
Arrange and support vendor on-site training when needed
Creates metrics to evaluate effectiveness of training programs and makes changes when appropriate.
Continually evaluates training delivery and effectiveness and actively ensures the organization is up to date and current with industry best practices to ensure tech info is cascaded to train teams
Act as point person with IT and Leadership Teams to collaborate, develop and lead technical training initiatives
Maintains technical knowledge through continuous learning opportunities
Review and test process, procedures and technical systems in collaboration with IT and Department Team Leads
What you need for this position:
Education Requirements -
Bachelor’s degree (in Business, Computer Science, Human Resources or related field preferred)
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements -
5 years’ experience delivering training in a professional environment using multi-media methods.
3 years’ experience using authoring tools and creating web based or CBT training. Captivate or Articulate a Plus.
MS office productivity suite expertise required
Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills with ability to build rapport across organization with peers, subordinates and supervisors
