Accounting Assistant

Description:

Assist the Accounting and IT Department with various accounting and financial duties with the intent of creating timely and accurate financial information. Assist with special projects and provide support to other departments as necessary.

Duties:

Budgeting and Forecasting
Accurate Financial Reporting
Accounting Processes and Procedures
Prepare Bank Reconciliations
Process fixed assets and investments
Daily GL reconciliations
Accounts Payable
Month End Close
Quarterly Call Reporting
Risk mitigatioin through a comprehensive set of controls and budgets.
Ensuring GAAP compliance as well as state and federal banking regulations.
Ability to explain complex accounting concepts to other non-accounting leaders.


Qualifications:

A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or acceptable work experience. Prefer 1-2 years of Financial Institution experience but not required.

Proficiency with accounting software, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Excellent analytical skills, people skills and self-direction.

Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are essential elements of this position.
