|As a Loan Underwriter you will:|
•Be responsible for prudent lending while balancing the needs of our customers with the needs of our organization.
•Review, analyze, and decision loan requests on products such as personal lines of credit, credit cards, unsecured loans, automobiles, home equities, recreational vehicles, boats, and motorcycles.
• Evaluate and verify loan applications and credit criteria and recommend counter offers as appropriate.
•Review financial statements, credit reports, applicable ratios and other supporting documentation.
•Compute needed ratios.
•Verify employment and income.
•Determine value of collateral.

|Candidates for this position should meet the following requirements:|
•Experience in underwriting loans from beginning to end with approval authority.
•Knowledgeable in applicable lending regulations.
•Analytical ability to make high quality loan decisions in accordance with loan policy, credit granting criteria, interest rates and how they are computed, and required documentation for each type of loan. This includes the judgement to apply broader aspects of established practices to situations, which go beyond clear, concise guidelines.
•Working knowledge of interviewing skills and techniques.
•Must be able to read and interpret all three major credit bureau reports.
•Ability to read and interpret financial statements and tax returns.
•Intermediate mathematical skills including calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, and fractions.
